Riverview Church
About Us
Riverview Church is one church with three locations (The Holt Venue, REO Town Venue and MSU Venue) in the greater Lansing area of Michigan.
Riv has been around for over 35 years, but more than sixty percent of our people are younger than that. We have a strong college student presence from Michigan State, Lansing Community College, and Cooley Law School, as well as lots of post-college people and young families.
We are doctrinally conservative, but culturally fluid. Our music is loud and varied, and between our nine bands, ranges in style from blue grass to rock, and almost anything in between. We serve LOTS of free, freshly ground gourmet coffee during our services, and welcome you to take it into the auditorium. You can choose between Hazelnut, Vanilla, and the always popular House Blend.
We have a team of pastors (there are currently nine) instead of a senior pastor, and teaching styles can also vary depending on who’s on stage any given weekend.
Riv is pretty casual, so feel free to wear jeans and a T-shirt, leave the piercings in, and show off the tattoos. Or if you prefer dressing up, knock yourself out; we’ve got lots of people who do that too. We don’t really care what you wear, just as long as you wear something!

ScottOther than one pastor I would say the church strives to promote scripture as a whole with sound doctrine as a base in the background while remaining contemporary to appeal to the younger groups and "seekers". There is one pastor, however, who seems to be strongly supportive of liberal theology, social media trends, fads and gadgets and the the mass media's influence and definition of "social justice" (vs. Christ's broader version of Social Justice being for all cultures, age groups, colors, etc. vs. the one or two specific "victim" groups pushed by the liberal political agenda)
